The Chickasaw Crape Myrtle is the smallest of the small, making it the original miniature crape myrtle. Maturing to only 2 feet tall and wide, this variety is a true rarity in the world of crape myrtles. Its individual flower buds are around 3mm in diameter, and when they open, the flower clusters are about the size of a dime.  The clusters reach approximately 2-3 inches long. The dark green leaves are 1/2 to 1 inch long, with leaf node spacing of less than an inch, contributing to its distinctive and compact appearance.

The Chickasaw Crape Myrtle's slow growth rate is more than compensated by its unique charm and rarity. Many other nurseries may claim to sell the Chickasaw Crape Myrtle but often ship something completely different (most usually Pokomoke). After years of careful cultivation, we are proud to offer the true Chickasaw variety. Our Southern Charm Crape Myrtles micro-miniature Bijou™ series originated from this variety.  These smallest of the small varieties come in strikingly different colors. The Chickasaw Crape Myrtle variety features rose pink flowers, dark green leaves, and light beige and brown exfoliating bark, making it a great choice for small borders or potted plants.
