As important as it is to grow healthy, beautiful plants it's just as important to safely ship them to your door!

Ove many years professionally shipping plants all over the world and being our fair share of consumers of plants purchased online, we have learned what works and what doesn't.

First and foremost, we thoroughly understand that every order is different. Thus, the approach taken to packing each order is considered on an individual basis. Please allow us to go over our thought processes and what you should expect.

  1. Check the validity of the order. Make sure your order is 100% complete, correct and each plant has been individually labeled to avoid any confusion.
  2. Determine the size of your box. Did you order a micro miniature that's 6 inches tall, or perhaps a tree that needs to be trimmed to 4ft to fit in our longest boxes?
  3. Ensure the soil stays moist and in the pot. We do not ship our plants dry, nor are they soaking wet as to disturb the integrity of the box. Sure, it might cost a little more to ship them watered, but it's worth it to lessen the stress on your new plants. Each pot is individually wrapped in a plastic bag that is secured at the top by the trunk/stem of the plant.
  4. Secure the plants in the box. This can be a challenge as we aim to allow the most air circulation around the leaves in transit. We do not pack the box full of paper around the plants. This causes them to lose excessive moisture through the leaves and often results in damage during packing and shipping. Instead, we use a combination of bamboo stakes, plant collars and staples.
  5. *It's common for us to staple the plant pot to the side of the box. This ensures zero movement, allows the plant to breathe and doesn't damage it in any way. Upon receiving your order, please inspect the outside of the box. If one of more of your new plant's pot has been stapled to the inside of the box, it will be clearly marked with a bright sticker. You can safely remove your plant from the box AND save the pot in one of two ways. First, remove the staple with a flat head screwdriver, etc, from the outside of the box. OR place your hand between the inside of the box and the pot of the plant. Gently pry up and the pot will pop right off the staple. You'll be surprised how simple and effective this is! *
  6. Include your original order and a copy of the planting and growing instructions (and maybe a little something extra, just for fun! šŸ˜)
  • Zones 8-10 ship year round. You can plant your new crape myrtles any time of year and they'll do just fine.
  • Zones 6 & 7 will ship in Spring after your Average Last Frost.
  • Zone 5 will ship in early Summer, which is after your last frost.

Each order and growing zone are looked at on an individual basis. If it's not a good time to ship, and your success may be compromised, we will notify you of the ideal time of shipping.

  • You can also select your own ship date. On the checkout screen you will see a "Note" box. In that box simply indicate when you would like your order to ship, and we'll be happy to ship at that time.
